Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium

Year 7 literacy and numeracy catch up funding is awarded to schools for those students not reaching the national average scaled score of 100 in either reading or maths at Key Stage 2. It is provided to all state funded schools with a Year 7 cohort. North Shore Academy is determined to support students to ensure that core skills are developed. This is to embed success in English and Maths, but also so that students can be successful across a diverse and rich range of subjects with a core literacy and numeracy base.

What do we use the funding for?

The funding also contributes towards our delivery of:

  • Lexia and literacy withdrawal – to support students in the development and deployment of literacy skills
  • Maths support – Maths Whizz (delivered by a specialist maths teachers and withdrawal from a member of the SEND team).
  • Primary transition
  • Additional Reading Lessons at KS3

In 2019/20 the academy will receive £11,664 (estimate)
